He: Mama, my soaked nuts today?
Me: So sorry, I’ll ensure that we don’t skip it next time! (Had messed up our daily routine)
He: Oh, so today, I’ll have to eat more fruits?
Me: Not really
He: Then, what about my power to fight germs, my Immunity?
Me: Well, Immunity doesn’t build up in a day, it is a continuous process!
Do you know, When I was your age, I also asked this to my mom. I remember how particular your naani was, right from leafy veggies, nuts, and seeds, juicy fruits to haldi wala doodh. Being a science educator, she has always been a strong advocate of Curcumin (the compound found in turmeric (Haldi) and good nutrition works together, in combination. Curcumin is a powerful antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory properties, which enhances immunity & protects from infections.
He: Accha, that’s why you give me haldi water and haldi milk?
Me: Yes, and not just food, we have to be physically active as that also enhances our immunity from “within”! samjhe?
