Vaccination is being considered as a perfect weapon against the corona epidemic. In view of the danger of a possible third wave of corona, most of the experts are being told to take the most precautions with the children. 

The Kids Vaccine program has not yet been started in our country. However vaccination programs are going on for children above 12 years of age in many other countries. 

Cuba has however become the first country in the world to start vaccination against Covid 19 for children under the age of 2. Cuba, The communist island of 11.2 million people, aims to vaccinate all children in the country before reopening schools that have been closed for the most part since March 2020.

The Cuban government has announced that schools will gradually reopen in October-November but only after all children have been vaccinated.

Cuba has started a vaccination program for all children starting Friday, after successful trials of the Abdala and Sobrana vaccines on children.

The first vaccination was for children over the age of 12 but has started distributing jabs to children aged 2 years to 11 years in the Cuban central province of Cienfuegos.

Many other countries continue to vaccinate children under the age of 12 years. Other countries like China, UAE, Venezuela have announced that they are going to start vaccination of children under 12 years of age very soon, while Chile on the other hand has approved the Sinovac vaccine for children between 6 years and 12 years. .

The vaccines being administered in Cuba have been developed in Latin America and have not yet been scientifically reviewed internationally. These vaccines are based on combinatorial protein technology and also the Novavax of the US and the Sanofi vaccines of France. It has been prepared in this way and all these vaccines are still waiting for approval from WHO.

When can vaccinations for children start in India?

According to the information received so far, from the first week of October, the program of corona vaccination for children above the age of 12 years can start in our country. Prof. Narendra Arora, Chairman of National Technical Advisory Group said that from October to December, 3 to 5 crore doses of Zydus Cadila's Zyco-D vaccine will be available.

Professor Narendra Arora has said that three doses of this vaccine have to be taken, and preparations will have to be done accordingly. He also mentions that if the child has received the first dose of the vaccine today, then the second dose can be taken on the 28th day and then the third dose of the vaccine can be taken on the 56th day. Giving information, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had also said that corona vaccination for children is expected to start soon. Right now the corona vaccine is being given in our country only for people of 18 years of age and above.
