W Sitting Is your child sitting the wrong way

The W-position is one of many sitting positions that most children move in and out of while playing, but it’s not recommended for everyone. W-Sitting refers to the position wherein a child sits on his or her hips, with the knees bent and legs folded on each side. Many developing children move through this position while playing, but you, as parents, should be aware that the excessive use of W-sitting during growing years can lead to orthopaedic problems in the future. Read our blog, with answers from a Developmental Paediatrician, on what you need to know about W-sitting, and how you can correct it in your child.
