My sweet little daughter makes a lot of noise and screams at small things. She even starts crying loudly sometimes. This is a new development since a few days. my elder daughter never showed any such features, so I need to understand how to tackle it.

hi Vineeta Kapoor! each child is unique and follows a different developmental path including siblings. Vineeta is she able to express in words how she feels. the better is her vocabulary the more equipped she feels and less aggressive she would be . praise her when she shares her emotions in words. give her a smiley or reward her with a hug and her favourite dish. try and understand what makes her irritable. make her calm down by hugging her and say ' is Meera upset about something?', ' is Meera feeling bad? recognise her emotions and say' I know u r feeling bad ' so let her express her feelings , she will definitely feel better. hope this will be of help to u!

Thanks Shikha! Yes, Meera expresses herself in a couple of words most of the times and I understand her. I do try to calm her down gently and divert her to some thing else . But I am a little amazed at her behaviour. I guess it's a passing phase.

yes Vinita it's a passing phase, she is experimenting with herself and things around , so in this process she will try and behave differently and wait for the response . this phase shall too pass only to be followed by another new behavior. so enjoy her childhood and don't forget to capture these lil moments which will become precious memories to be cherished forever. Happy parenting!
