Dear all, I am working women, nuclear family and husband do travel only on weekend to us. It's only me who is managing my 20 month old son. He is in Daycare during weekdays. My son is not talking yet. He can say mamma papa but when i ask him where is papa , he just dont want to say or ignore. If i call by his name though he responds sometime and many times he just want to ignore. He do act on some characters of "wheels on the bus" rhymes. I do try to encourage him to talk but he just ignores it. I try to take him out when come back from home but when come back he just dont want to play with toys. He gets happy if rhymes is ON. I am trying best to avoid screen time but i am failling and failling. Every week i come back with new interesting toys but again he plays for 20min and again hop here-there. He can say Hi and Bye. He just dont want to listen what i say. I am not sure if its sign of something. We asked his paed and he said that dont worry till 2years. It would be great help if i get guidance and help on how to make him busy, toys if you can suggest, activities i can do with him and how i can encourage him to talk. As me and my son only at home , so i do talk with him alot which is not helping him to say words . If you can suggest best thing on encouraging him to talk .

hi sweety! does he make an eye contact? what would be his vocab size ? I believe the root cause for such behavior is gadgets only and if not dealt with right away it might become a serious issue.. please take baby steps and everyday reduce 15 minutes of screen time till u finally succeed. talk a lot with yr child. plan age appropriate activities for him, organize play dates, play Indoor/outdoor games, take him to the park , spend time talking to him and understand what he likes to do and what is that he doesn't like. the more u would understand him, more he would take interest . hug him often and build that connect.. hope this helps!
