hi Babli Jaiswal! I appreciate your concern. there are long term effects of watching TV for longer duration.. please talk to him about those and also get involved in the activity u plan for him which would motivate him to be active .. and take it up seriously.. here's a blog on fun filled outdoor activities u can plan for your child. please have a look at it!Hey! hi babli, I faced a similar problem when my son was addicted to mobiles. I simply put my mobile on flight mode and he could not guess what happened. slowly his attention moved on to kids playing on the road. similarly , you can cut off the dish subscription for some time. Then slowly subscribe for only ur channel and 1 cartoon channel . Then cut of that cartoon channel too. To be frank , we dint have cartoon channels for about three months . now my son does not like cartoons much and Gose out to play and comes back home sweating. so first find some friends for him to play and introduce him to them. slowly things will change. regards, harsha

initially get yourself engage with him like get him play dough, sand, some blocks etc... and don't sit in the room where tv is.... make whatever excuse you can.... but politely... than gradually take him to the park where there are swings... and help him to make some new good friends... get bat ball, badminton, football etc what he likes...

but cutting off dish is not a solution... kids should learn whats right n whats wrong only than they will able to make right decisions for themselves as they grow up.... same situation was with me... and whatever I've suggested you... I applied all those n believe me... she loves to play with her friends more than watching tv

cut off the cartoon channel and spend some time playing so that her mind will get diverted.
