hi I n 30th week I have AFI 9. and now 32nd week I have AFI 8 and my doc said low AFI ,why this decrease and how it can be increased? is there any problem due to this ?

my doc advised me to drink two and a half litres of water in a day and get at least 10 hours of sleep ..not to travel much.. even you get sachets to increase the fluid.. kindly ask your doc for the same

hi sujatha! The amniotic fluid index (or AFI) is used to estimate the well-being of the fetus. you would have had this from your doc after an ultrasound of the uterus to estimate the levels of amniotic fluid levels in the uterus.
