For six month old baby start with small quantity two times a day. Let baby and his tummy be accustomed to new foods. And also if u breast feed your baby u should continue that too. Also look for any allergies your baby have with any food items. And consult Dr for same. Go slow and gradually introduce your baby to the new world of foods.

Harsha paediatric do generally don't suggest giving cerelac to baby. But personally speaking i do give my baby cerelac. I found no side effects or any allergies related to cerelac. I gave him when he turned 7th months. Don't make it the only meal for baby. Some time for a change u can give. So that baby will be accustomed to all tastes. Also if any time during travelling with baby when home made foods couldn't be available then cerelac is a very good option to feed baby.

Yes Harsha when baby is 6+ month u can start giving cerelac. Banana mashed Could be other option. More sooner u start less hassle will be for u to feed your baby as the taste will be familiar for baby. U can explore for more options too. Happy feeding :)
