Baby girl wants to walk but falls on head most of the times

1 to 3 years

My one year old daughter is too fussy about walking on her own. Especially in evenings she becomes adamant that we just leave her on the floor so that she can explore her walking motor skills. My concern is that more often than not she stumbles onto something and falls on the floor hurting herself, half of the times on her head. It scares me a lot as head is a very delicate area.   If I try to hold her and engage her in some other activity like one of her favorites - watching honey singh and diljit songs (God knows why she likes them a lot) but when she wants to walk then almost nothing can stop her from doing that. She will just cry incessantly till you leave her on the floor and then she will chuckle and run fast bumping against one thing or the other.   Has anybody faced a similar situation? Please guide me on how did you manage a fussy child when she cries incessantly.   Thanks for reading patiently.   Mandeep

Hi Mandeep Singh Bedi This is absolutely normal. My son used to do the same thing and he still does, he is now 18 months old. I think its human psychology. Even adults if learn anything new then they are so excited to do that again and again. same happens with kids also. Their new skills excites them a lot and then want to excel in the same. Just be around her when she walks and pick her asap when she falls. rest leave on her, she is an active baby and doing a right thing and you should feel good about that.

hi.. u can child proof ur home by spreading a removable fom mats whenever she walks or by carpetting the area where she walks normally.. falling is normal - but plz dnt stop her frm walking - plz encourage her walking. and remove all sharp furnitures whenever she walks, if possible. And crying is normal for babies.
