Hi Apurva ...every baby goes through this phase ..some forget thumb sucking after a few weeks while some develop the habit of thumb sucking.. you please have a word with your doctor/fellow parents on how to prevent your baby from developing a habit (like using a pacifier or covering the hand with mittens etc).. my daughter started sucking her thumb at 5mnths and nw shez 12 mnths old the habit is still there... I sometimes regret that I didn't do anything to stop her from developing the habit!!

Can teether be given to a 3month old baby? I thought it is only given to babies at their teething time...

Gums of baby must be soaring. This is a normal cycle, try to give her/him some good teethers to relax her/his soar gums. Try it, it's a useful tip in distracting baby's mind from thumb sucking..
