My kid is 4. 5 years old and has bed wetting problem. I don't give him water after late evening. I try to wake him twice daily but if I miss or even otherwise he pees on bed. He is in deep sleep in night and even takes almost 20 mins to wake up properly. I don't know what to do? please suggest

please consult ur child's pediatrician in that case, who would guide u about simple excercises that he could do for bladder control and would also rule out any underlying cause for it..

Pooja are u waking him up at a regular time? if no, please try to do that, as with wake up time being fixed, everday, his body clock would set after sometime , and he would wake up on his own . that's d reason for setting an alarm.

Thanks Shikha Batra , I have been waking him almost 1 year and even then he doesn't wake on his own in case I miss. He is in such deep sleep that he says he can't make it when he feels the urge.

hi Pooja Nayak ! I do comprehend ur concern . for initial few days u could set an alarm around the time he regularly has the urge to pee, help him wake up and take him to the washroom. when it would become a routine, he would wake up on his own. u need to be patient with the child and please ensure he doesn't overexert himself during the day. children at this age needs to do lot of running around in school ,and then traveling to and fro to school is again exhausting, followed by juggling between classes at home, play , studies.. by the end of the day they are drained out completely with lil energy to recognise the urge to pee and wake up. have patience , he will come around soon.
