I am 34 weeks and 7day pregnant. I have been detected with Amniotic Fluid Index of 15. 8, which the doctor said, its on the higher side. I have been consulted to take an injection of Betnesol this week for better lung maturity of my baby in case my water breaks before 37 weeks. I believe this is a steroid so was little apprehensive about taking it specially about its effectiveness at this later stage of pregnancy. Are there any side effects of this injection?

Hi Sweta, All medications have side effects during pregnancy. When it comes to stronger variants such as antibiotics. Take only when the development of baby is not possible without it. Your gynecologist should be able to help you with active information on the progress of your growing baby and your overall health status.
