Hi, i am a mother of 2yrs and 7yrs old children. And I suggest you not to overboil water. If you see a bubble, then immediately switch off the stove. Because too much boiling can also leads to side effects ,for ex: if you are travelling some where and you didn't get the provision for boiling the water and the child drinks normal water without boiling can lead to throat infection, cold, cough etc. , According to my general experience, I had given my children normal boiling water(upto one bubble) up to 1 and half years, I. e. , 18months.

rolling boil for a full minute, then cool it covered, and bring it to room temperature. but for my daughter, my doctor advised me that RO water is equally safe and infact it is better to accustom the child right from the beginning to whatever the system of the house is.
