Book reading

My son is 9years old. He is very excited about buying n choosing story books. but when it comes to reading he reads a few pages and leaves it. if I read it out he enjoys. how do I get him to read on his own

Dear Nidhi, there maybe many children who are not very good readers. He may like the idea of reading but may lose patience half way. I was like that as a child. Try and get him books with short stories which will help in keeping his attention till the end. You could also try & split the stories up so that he reads say 10 pages a day. He can take his time to finish the stories. Do encourage him and try resisting reading to him. Hope this helps :)
