Hi Sai Sawyem! Docs advise to exclusively breastfeed till six months of age and then u can gradually add semi solid food and finally by 1 year solid food can be given along with breastfeed. By 6 months begin with dal/rice water, kheers (suji/broken rice) with lots of milk. Gradually by 8 months add boiled and mashed pumpkin, peas, roti mashed in milk, atta halwa etc. to his diet and by 10 months u could give steamed pieces of carrot, potato ( in your presence ) and by 1 year start with Idli, dosa, upma, poha, vermicelli and thick gravies etc. Ideally a 1 year child can have everything an adult can have. You can continue with breastfeed till 1 year and 6 months and even beyond if u wish but gradually after 6 months do start reducing complete dependence on breastfeed give it only on demand or during sleep time.

hi i will advise you continue breat feeding. after 6 months completion you may introduce solid meal 3 times along with breast milk. if breat milk is adeqate your child may not need top milk untill 1 year. eat lots of protein, daliya , dal. drink plenty of water and yeas take milk 3 time a day with calcium and iron supplements. if child is sound asleep while sucking means ur milk is sufficinnt for him and his stomach is full else he will keep on sucking hard and will get cranky.
