try removing nipple by sliding your little finger from side ways and pushing it out... this way it won't hurt you while pulling it out and baby too won't feel a jerk in her sleep

hi Bhakti! congratulations on the arrival of your little bundle of joy! small babies get tired suckling so they sleep on the breast or since they are not able to suckle well they get frustrated and sleep. look at his facial expression if he seems to be relaxed and satisfied then remove him and make him sleep again on the bed by stroking his hair gently or rocking him. but in case u feel he is still not full and seems hungry and not relaxed, put him on the other breast and help him latch properly. the more he will suckle the better the milk production. u can also take the help of an expert who could guide u with the positioning, and latching tips hope this will be of help to u!
