breath holding spell

sometimes my 11 month old baby girl don't breath while crying and her face become blue with jerky moves in body .when I am trying to sooth her she stretched the time long .I am too much worried and not able to handle that situation..... pls pls help me

hi Meenakshi! I do comprehend your concern and understand how distressing it can be for u. these breath holding spells are a response to pain, anger , frustration and other emotions and ur child is not doing it on purpose. u could once get a thorough check up done by your doc.. to rule out any underlying cause such as anaemia or abnormality in heart. however u could distract the child during that episode by singing a song, a loud pleasant noise or shaking a rattle toy . if ur baby remains unresponsive for more than a minute than it's advisable to consult your doc.. hope this helps!
