I have 3 sons, i feel that preparing the older ones before the birth of a new baby helps. In our case the coming of our second baby had affected our first son. There was jealousy and other problems in his behaviour but, on our 3rd child it is completely different. We kept on telling our 2nd one about his new sibling to be, preparing him psychologically and his reaction is very different. He cares a lot for his brother.
