One may mix two or three pulses n ask the child to separate them in different containers... Also you can give them household stuff do to... Like putting the utensils in the drawers.. Stacking all the cups together.. Putting their clothes in the closet... Or putting the newspaper together... Kids love doing all this... Helping the elders is big thing for them,... If possible you can also give them water to play... , children love that... It might make a mess but it's ok at times...

Playing with blocks making different pattern, can play blow bubbles games, word scrabble. They can do small work like watering plants, serve glass of water or good to elders, fold their own clothes and keep it in cupboard, wash their own hankies, socks. Can put in cover to their books. Can make some small projects on any topic,it's learning while doing .Can collage/ make chart/book of current affairs,science/social articles. Will be helpful in learning things from other sources apart from school books.

We have a stand with a blackboard on one side and a whiteboard on the other. My kids love to draw, scribble on both the boards. I ask my 5 year old to draw something specific like a sunny day & watch her use her imagination to make a picture with the sun, flowers, grass, butterflies, bees, trees etc etc etc. My 2 year old is learning to draw shapes. This is their favorite indoor activity for now :)
