So done with parents who keep boasting about how advanced their little kids are and how fast their pace in learning to read, write and do math at their so called good schools are! Haven't they heard of readiness and conceptual learning? of learning outside of textbooks? all they do is give pressure to the poor kids!! sigh!

You're right Anurima.. can't blame them entirely because of our education system. It should change first. As long as both parents and teachers are only hung up on marks and our social status and value in the marriage market depends on our marks and then our jobs, it would still be very difficult to ask parents to chill and let their children enjoy their childhood. But I still say, why so early?:)

Hi Hannah! You would have a dual perspective on this, both as a parent as well as being a teacher. you may want to read this interesting blog. https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/identifying-and-nurturing-the-gift-area-for-your-child/327

I hear you Hannah! It is a kind of rat race in itself. However, I doubt if this is something that will disappear at all. All we need to do is make sure our children do not feel stressed or pressurized to do more than what they are capable of; it should not affect them negatively in any way. We can also share this thought with friends/family who feel that their children should excel in all fields even the ones which beyond their age or capacity. This is how we can try to make a change :)
