I am suffering from ITP from my 7th month of pregnancy and am under high doses of steroids through drips and orally too. Though the drips aren't continuing but the oral medicines are still on and due to this I am still unable to produce breast milk. Also my baby was born in his 35th week and weighed 2. 1kgs. He is totally on formula. My concern is sometimes he refuses to take milk and sleeps so much that he doesn't take milk. I give him 80ml milk for 7 times in 24 hours. How to make him drink without forcing him ? Please guide about starting semi solids too. He will complete 4 months on this 27th. What should be his weight? Please guide.

hi Priyanka Bakshi ! please avoid giving semi solid before 6 months of age until advised by yr doc.. by 6th month baby doubles her birth weight.. and u can maintain a gap of 2 to 2 and a half hrs between feeds, for baby to feel hungry.. avoid force feeding as that would further make the baby averse to milk.
