Has anyone got the GCT test for gestational diabetes? The one which has fasting diabetes test and then after having 75gm glucose testing diabetes again in 2 hours. So basically after fasting i had breakfast and then after 30 mins i had glucose and then after 2 hours gave sample. Have you guys also done the same way? Assistant doc told me it is fine this way. But diff people give diff opinion? can someone help?

u have done it right from what i know.

it's usually done one hour after consuming glucose syrup. but i am sure u would have got Instructions from lab pathologists.

but why is this gct test required.. my doc dint ask me to do it with my first child.. this doc has asked for second child.. is it needed?

Kshipra Akkewar They check for gestational diabetes. In case baby is at risk if your sugar level is high. Most doc ask to get it done these days just ti be sure
