Hi shally dhar ! Has he been given mashed food since childhood? Is there any other accompanying issue?

shally dhar I could totally relate to you . My son is also of the same age. He too swallows food and chews food very rarely. I always sit next to him when he eats and encourage him to chew and swallow food every time he eats. Set an example to him . Sit next to him and show him how you chew the food before you swallow it. This is what I do to my son and now he has improved a lot.

You could make him unlearn this behaviour by taking small steps. Such as you could try and make him have at least one meal of the day with family members. Avoid feeding him, instead make small morsels and let him feed himself. Avoid usage of gadgets while feeding him. Also praise him or give him a smiley when he makes effort . I am sure with persistence and perseverance he would come around soon .
