Hi Sonia. DMD is any parents worst nightmare. Yes its prognosis is not gd... however hard one tries. some things are just not in human control.. how so much progress scientifically we may have made. I have encountered other types of muscular dystrophy patients at opd. first you please be strong. may god give immense strength to u n ur family. then please start ur son with physiotherapy treatment along with other treatment(allopathic) that might be going on. Physiotherapy treatment will help him strengthen his muscle power n body control n maximize his functional capacities Acc to his physical state. Also it will delay the onset of complication ..like breathing problems... which ultimately proves fatal. N dear try to make the most of time u have in hand.. give him the happiest life u can.. let him do wotever makes him happy n enriches his soul.. hi all, I am from Hyderabad,my kid now 2. 8 is also diagnosed with DMD, he is 2. 2 when diagnosed , as there r no medicines in allopathy and in other forms ,we got to know through our family doctor who is homeopathy doctor,we r getting treated him at Mumbai with a experienced Homeo doctor. we could see improvement he is climbing steps with little support and his calf also reduced the stiffness.
