Hi Shahnaz! As the child's age increases fun activities tend to go on a decrease and it becomes more and more writing skills based. Yes or No answer or writing one word answer change place with elaborate answers. Most Children dread writing part as it is boring as well as a tiring activity. To make tasks interesting u need to think of fun activities which include the fun element and keep the excitement going .for ex:to explain about parts of a plant or which part of a plant becomes a vegetable say roots (beetroot, carrot and radish ). You could plan an early morning visit to nearby mandi whereby all vendors wash, arrange and sell vegetables. U could make him talk to them and understand which vegetable comes from roots; which comes from stem etc. Or u could make a visit to nearby nursery where they grow vegetables and flowers or u could have yr own kitchen garden. Even doing a thorough research on net beforehand would be a great idea. U could tell him to take notes, click pics and draw diagrams at the site itself. Thereby making a theoretical topic into a practical one or a field visit would make him register and retain the same for a longer period. Also u could tell him to write down his day's experience in his diary and share with others (If he wants to ). Appreciate him for his efforts. The more numbers of sensory organs which would be involved, the better would be the learning. Make him touch the soil, learn to plant a sapling, wash and smell the vegetable and even taste it if he wishes to. So try and give him hands on experience and make it interesting. Trust me Shahanaz u too would love and enjoy going through this experience. I know not all activities, can be planned this way but with even few activities he would enjoy the learning process and would no longer dread the writing part as it had been a great experience for him. Hope this helps!
