Hi Sangeeta, this is the age your child learns to communicate. So please do the following 1. one of the parents can speak in English and the other in mother tongue so the child picks up both. 2 Another option is repeat your sentences in your mother tongue after you say it in English. 3. Read variety of picture books to develop language skills. 4. Children learn to speak by imitating us. So use various words for the same meaning at different occasion. E. g sad, disappointed, dejected, dissatisfied, down, discouraged, unhappy, miserable, depressed etc so child's vocabulary will increase. 5. If you have a neighbour who can't speak speak your month tongue, let your child play with them as their child and yours will start communicating in English when there is a necessity. 6. When your child makes mistakes while speaking, do not point it out as it can discourage him. Instead repeat your sentence with the right word as a question or an acknowledgement. Dont worry your child will eventually pick up the language. Hope this helps.

language is a thing of practice. if u wish ur child to b fluent in English. Talk with him in English more n encourage him to talk. don't correct him too much in the beginning, else he will start avoiding. let him speak initially n afterwards correct him. these days most schools are English medium so he will pick up more in school and his circle.
