My daughter is 5 month old and exclusively breastfed. For the past three days she has not poo. she usually poo every alternative days but today wherever she fart it was horribly smelly. Is this normal for a breastfed baby? I can pinpoint one thing I've eaten different.... chocolate, ice cream and mangoes. Is She okay?

hi Divya! yes there is definitely a link between chocolate and gassy baby. please avoid having it till you are breastfeeding as it can cause discomfort to baby. also as far as possible have nutritious food so that nutrients can be passed on to the baby.

mangoes r not advisable for u to take since the baby is too small.. are u giving some water to ur baby daily? if not do give some water daily.. don't panic it's nothing to worry. if the baby doesn't poo, 'boil half glass of water, switch off the stove and then put 2 or 3 dry grapes in it and allow it for one hour. ' filter it and give the water to ur baby, it'll help the baby to go for motion without trouble. take mangoes only when the baby starts eating it. n the smell might b due to some problems in digestion. it'll become alryt as u eat regular food.

Don't give water until u start some solids. you can do DAT home remedy with raisins. try to avoid spicy items, chocs , mango nd junk... eat nly healthy.. she ll poo in two r 3 days... u can chk with doc if she dint poo fr one week.. until then no worries.
