Farts and cries a lot during night

my son is 20 months old , sometimes during mid night while sleeping suddenly he cries and screams a lot while farting. I don't have any clue of what is happening. initually i thought he may cry due to having dal during the night. but he will not farts nd cries everytine he have dal. No clue of what is happening. pls suggest me as what to do
