Hello Asha, according to my opinion most of the 2. 6 yrs old children don't like spicy food as this is not the proper age to be habituated with spicy food items. But only curd rice is not acceptable also... Have you ever forced her to taste spicy food? if "yes".. then it may be that she is scared of tasting any new dish thinking that it may be spicy in taste. You can do onething... you can add boiled carrots and potatoes in her curd rice. Talk her nicely and assure her again and again that if she dislikes any new dish or find it spicy... she will not be asked to taste it again.

Asha I agree with DEBASHREE BHATTACHARYA , take it one step further and make it a fun game . ask her to score to Mama on a scale of 1 to 5 ,5 being 'very tasty' to 1 being 'i didn't like it'. after which ask her to suggest changes and next day again adjust spices according to her suggestions and again ask her to taste and give rating but do remember to avoid force feeding or coaxing her to taste it and make it a fun filled activity.

Thanks Shikha Batra , DEBASHREE BHATTACHARYA l have tried her with pulav , khichdi without any spicy... but she didn't even taste it. she is scared even by seeing color. sometime I add very little dal, or mashed veg to curd rice either she reject the food or she take off all the veggies from food and eat just curd rice. she used to eat all veggies with small amount of spicy. Her grand mother gave her spicy veggies. she left eating veggies and spicy foods for about 6 months. I'm worried about her health.

Asha in that case u could give her veggies in hidden form in stuffed parantha, finely chopped and added to pasta, upma , vermicelli, home made pizza,Dalia etc.. don't force her at all. wait for sometime to overcome her inhibitions on her own.. gradually she might tatse it.
