Dear Manas, how high does the fever go? Have you taken him to the doctor? My niece (2 years old) had a similar problem. She had fever off and on for more than a month. Each time she was given either paracetamol or antibiotics, which made her better but it was temporary. My cousin requested the doctor to do a thorough check as she was getting concerned at the repeated bouts of fever. After a few tests, she was diagnosed with typhoid and had to be hospitalized for a few days as by then she had completely stopped eating and was very weak. I dont mean to scare you Manas, but if viral fever or normal flu should go away after medication. I suggest you speak to the doctor and find out the real reason for the repeated fever. Hope he feels better soon.

Hi Manas, This fever could be due to anything--a low immunity, some infection that has manifested as fever, an allergy, or just the weather. Maintain a log--write down when the fever occurs and to what temperature along with what the child was exposed to when the fever came, and symptoms. Within a few weeks, hopefully you can spot a pattern and it will also help your doctor diagnose and give treatment. hope he recovers soon enough
