food for 7 months baby

my baby is completing 7 months this week. as of now I am giving morning ragi porridge, evening rice porridge and 3 times breast milk. and apple weekly thrice 2 teaspoon . please suggest what all shall I start off in her diet and also quantity .

I am giving cerelac in morning ...at 6pm home made apple and pomegranate juice ...at 8 pm thick banana milk shake ... at 10 30 pm ..last before sleeping thick mango aamras ... or thick tomato carrot spinach lauki soup . my baby girl likes all these and regularly has this everyday

your welcome dear .. I just consulted my doctor and he said that I giving more fruit diet and less of cereal .. he advised me to add more cereal in the diet and lessen fruit .. 2 proper meals of cereal in the diet like blended khichadi... sooji.... daliya.... cerelac .. or mashed or soaked chapati in milk if baby is able to have that ...blended idli

I think you are doing right by giving rice and ragi porridge... my doc said 2 cereal meals are must and in between u can give juice and add one fruit smoothie meal like these days I give mango or banana smoothie... u can give a variety instead of rice and ragi porridge everyday like sooji kheer... milk daliya... mashed idli ...khichadi... u can add veg to khichadi and blend it for goodness of vegetables also ..my doc said if the baby accepts then mashed chapati can also be given ..about juice ...I give fresh apple and pomegranate juice daily in good quantity approx 100 ml or as per your baby's liking to it... please tell me how you prepare rice and ragi porridge

hi Niharika, for rice porridge wash the rice in water and then dry it in a cloth under fan for some 1 or 2 hours. then just dry roast it in a pan just to make it dry no need to keep in pan for long time just few minutes is enough. then grind the rice in mixie make it fine powder and u can store it. I generally prepare it weekly once and store it. then with one glass of water in a pan add 2 teaspoon rice powder and make it boil ,u have to keep on stirring it without any lumps and boil it untill it reaches saucy consistency then allow it to cool for few minutes. serve little warm.
