My wife who is into 6th month of her pregnancy is suffering from gestational diabetes. What food should she take and what to avoid to keep it under control?

It's more of balanced diet that counts .. Balance carbohydrates with proteins and divide the food intake into 5 smaller portions instead of 3 chunk! min of 30 mins walk a day. Stay hydrated and happy.. That surely contributes to healthy momma and healthy baby. Good luck

Hi I am diabetic and know how difficult it is manage. Try to eat wholesome food such as pluses and unprocessed flours. Try to change the pattern as no thumb rule every body metabolism is different for me rice helped to control sugar better then wheat in later pregnancy stage now that strawberry are available give her bowl 10 at mid morning snack. Portion your meals at gap of. 2 to 3 hrs. Try to eat pasta whole wheat as other helped me to get my fasting sugar much in control. You have to try and check sugar levels. Keep a log and see what food increases the sugar as doctor will give standard diet which may suit you or may not . Try to modify as per body I know it's painful to prickly and test sugar levels but it's ts worth I have done that testing 7 times and nd keep on modifying diet.
