Hi, My baby is 2 months old now and on a powder feed as her mother is unable to get give her good breastfeed. My question is, do we have to also feed her with plain water after few powder feeds as she has to put a lot of efforts while potting.

Hi Vaibhav ! Water is usually not served before 6 months of age. However while preparation of formula feed, we mix the amount of formula with boiled water which is prescribed on the box or in the instructions manual.

To alleviate issue of constipation or hard stools you could try and reduce the gap in between feeds by half an hour or so . For instance if you were earlier giving feeds at a gap of 2 and a half hours, you can now give at a gap of 2 hours. please try and follow the instructions given on the box so that it's really helpful to the baby to gain weight. also please do keep a watch on babies weight gain, number of poops and pees in a day and overall activity. you could massage baby's legs in a cyclical motion and give her tummy time of not more than a minute in your presence.
