Hello Pinkey I can understand your concern. If you are really worried about his speech, I suggest that you do visit your paediatrician to rule out any physical problems. If required your doctor can recommend a speech therapist. What you can do at home are as follows: 1) Do not scold or shout at your son for not talking 2) Encourage him to talk in a loving and calm manner. 3) Talk to him a lot even if he does not reply. 4) Read to him stories and show him the pictures in the story book. 5) Point out pictures of objects and name them. 6) 7). Allow him to play with his similar age children. Repeat these activities several times in a day and week.

Pinkey A 2 years old child can ideally speak about 50+ words but he understands more than he can speak. He can comprehend simple commands. So if you think your child can engage in meaningful conversation, replies appropriately on being asked a simple question in yes or no or one or two words or makes an eye contact when called by his name, then do not worry. However, if you feel these things are missing please consult a developmental pediatrician. Please make sure his screen time is zero and also talk a lot with your child and read age appropriate books and plan age appropriate activities for him. Ask him more of open ended questions.
