High Amniotic fluid

Pregnancy

I am 34 weeks 3 days pregnant. I have amniotic fluid index of 15. 8. Is that a cause of concern especially preterm labour? My sugar tests are also within the reference range. Should I still avoid sweets?

My doctor has advised me to keep a control on sugar intake... she says diabetic diet to be followed. that will help the amniotic fluid to be in controled levels

Thanks everyone. I have been consulted an injection of Betnesol injection this week for better lung maturity of my baby in case my water breaks before 37 weeks. I believe this is a steroid so was little apprehensive about taking it specially about its effectiveness at this later stage of pregnancy. Is there any side effects of this injection?

Hi Shweta.. I m also 35wks 4days and having fluid level 16. Its normal.. But now keep close contact with your doc. If you have any doubt then ask your doc freely.. They can give you best advice. Avoid thing which can increase BP and sugar. Have balanced diet and light exercise like walking.

Shweta... normally avoid or decrease the sugar and salt level in food or things tat you intake during pregnancy... it helps a lot to avoid weight gain and leg pain...
