How handle the situation

my son is 5. 7 yrs old and i used to make him to play daily in the evening once school timing is over. on that time while playing with other kids suddenly there will be fight between kids my son also will hit the other ki dwho disturbed him.... to avoid unnecessary confusion i asked my son son to tell me if the other kids hits or push you... so nowadays he started following the same... but in my family they r telling ... complaining about others habit will increase to mu son... and he will depend on others or ua for every situation...... please help
