hi Avishkar! u have asked a very pertinent query. nowadays we protect our children from all sorts of odd situations, prepare them beforehand for everything, leave little or no space for them to experience and learn. this makes them dependent on us throughout their lives. even a small issue becomes a major problem for them and they feel helpless . probably that's the cause for suicidal tendencies and depression in children. i believe this can be improved by allowing our children to take everyday decisions at least regarding themselves for instance what they want to wear, how they want to dress up for a party, which friends they want to play with. making them feel in command and letting them know it's OK to make mistakes . it's OK to go wrong at times and no one is perfect. I believe due to so much of competition we make our children participants of a mad race which might or might not hold any relevance later in their life and forget to make them learn very important lessons about life and it's ways. Avishkar I believe u as a parent can do your best by letting your children know u r there for them throughout as a constant support but u would keep your participation in their life as a motivator, a guide and not as a decision maker. they have to make important decisions for themselves. I am sure they would come out as emotionally strong individuals this way once they grow up. hope this helps!!!
