How to talk to your child about terrorist/ violent attacks.

All age groups

At a friend's house during a heated discussion about Paris attacks and what we are leaving for our children. An acquaintance's son asked about what is happening on TV, so she casually told him that its a terrorist attack where bad people are going around the world and killing good people. Its good to answer curious children, but what is most important is what you are telling and how. Would like to discuss this with my fellow parents, what are the best ways to communicate something like this to your child

I feel age can be a factor to decide what lessons we are giving our kids. By giving lessons to kids on good and bad people how are we going to convince kids on who are bad and good people around us. It will only make kids more insecure and scared. Terrorism is a big word and it will not be possible to explain kids. I think its better to avoid discussing.
