Hi again! Thanks Monica for elaborating your query. A 6 year old has attention span of not more than 10 to 15 minutes. To make him sit down and study ,it would require just more than pencil and notebook. First and foremost start afresh. Tell yourself u will not say anything negative while teaching your child. Just praise him and motivate him. If he likes to colour, Make him use colored crayons or sketch pen or felt pen or markers or chalks to teach instead of pencil and use white board or blackboard or easel board or magnetic board with magnetic pens instead of paper or notebooks. Secondly use story books or flash cards or puppets to teach a concept. Thirdly u can also make it interesting by teaching him in the form of a quiz or a puzzle or a maze and rewarding him on each correct answer. Try giving examples from day to day life. For instance. If u want to teach him addition. U can say_if u have 5 cars and u got 2 more on your birthday .how many cars do u have in all?this should catch his attention and make him take interest in studies. Also have a fixed schedule where there is time allotted for all the activities including studies and play. Reward him with smileys and star stickers . Be generous with praise and hugs. Hopefully This should work!
