hi. if u r breast feeding make sure ur baby latch the breast correctly. some times baby needs burp in between feeding. so try to burp him and again start to feed. if ur breast nipple is softer after feeding then baby had enough milk.. if ur baby unsettled after feeding then u know he had not enough milk.

A very common anxiety among breastfeeding moms is whether or not the baby is getting enough breastmilk .. This is because while you can measure the amount of formula feed, u cant do the same with breastmilk.. Dont worry.. A reliable indicator indicator of whether you baby is getting enough breastmilk is to count the number of wet cloth nappies .. They should atleast be 7-8.. Alsi baby should gain weight.. If the baby is gaining enough weight for his prescribed age then breastfeeding is working fine.. Dont worry if you baby is feeding for long time.. Initially babies stay on the breast for longer ..thats because they are not experts at sucking.. And are learning the skill.. Also they do not have enough energy to draw out milk from breasts quickly.. Thats why they take longer time.. With time the baby will nurse effectively and efficiently in lesser time.. Sometimes the baby can take less time also.. Remember its not about feed always.. Baby seeks comfort reassurance and security from the breasts

So they may want to stay on longer.. Just make sure your latch is working fine.. And that you offer both breasts at one feed.. Feed the baby on demand.. And note babies signs of hunger.. Crying being a late sign of hunger.. If u see signs of hunger offer you breasts.. In that case baby will be less fussy and will draw out milk more effectively.. Dont wait for the baby to cry.. Signs of hunger are generally smacking of lips.. Rooting reflux..

If your breasts feel softer lighter after feed it means the baby has been able to draw milk effectively..
