Lack of interest in studies

Hi, I am a working single mother living with in-laws. My concern is related to my child's studies, she is in class- 3rd and 8 yrs of age. Whenever I ask her to complete her home work or make her learn anything for test, she never takes interest and always tries to avoid opening her notebooks at home. Although I always initiate that she is regular to her tutions and schools but I want her to study at home infront of me so that I can be aware where is she standing and where she needs help. Please guide that how can i create her interest in studies.
