Lack of interest in studying

hi Pushpa Birla! I understand your concerns! this is too early for a child to decide a field in which she is more interested . give her options, let her explore and decide for herself. bring her books other than text books which she can read and develop interest. also u could sit along and help her in studying. give her timed test papers and do the correction immediately, so that she doesn't repeat those mistakes. clarify her concepts. work on the weak areas and identify her strengths. studies need not be only restricted to pen and paper. u could organize quizzes, or make it in a game format. score her on the whiteboard/blackboard for every right answer. inculcate reading habit. make her favorite book corner with all sorts of books and let her organize herself and decide which book she wants to read everyday. read out stories to her , share facts about earth, planets , solar system, etc. I am sure with time she will have a clear picture.
