Hi! My girl is 2. 9 yr old, goes to nursery. i am a working woman, so cant b with her all d time. her grandma was with her n now i ve appointed a maid for her. our mothertongue is marathi n both talk in marathi hence she learned marathi first but nw in her school her teacher speaks in English & Hindi and no one talks in marathi. At home I always try to talk with her in English with small sentences & English words but my husband says if we try to teach them 2-3 languages at d same time they get confused. Is it so? Hi aparna! Do not worry. Let your child learn a new language along with being conversant in her native language. Research has proven that children learn new languages faster if introduced with a connect to their native language. Also, on the contrary children can learn more than 5 languages at the same time and even more. The more languages they are introduced at early stages the better it is for their cignitive development. :)

Hi Aparna, just carry on talking in whatever language you wish with your child. You will be surprised to see how well she picks up all the languages around her and also will know whom to speak to in what language. Children pick up languages very fast and this does not lead to any confusion. So don't worry!
