less feeding

my 3. 5 month old baby boy is taking less milk from last 4-5 days.. earlier he used to take around200ml milk once in every 3-4 hrs. now he is taking around 100ml milk in 2-3 hrs. he is also suffering from cold.. he is playing well and sleeping well. only milk taking is less.. is it ok.. or I need to consult any doctor?

hi Jyoti! since your baby has cold, he might be facing difficulty sucking milk. please make sure his head is lil raised and not flat while having milk . also give in small quantities frequently as the baby has cold and might also face difficulty in breathing. also before feeding him take a bowl of lukewarm water(please check temperature beforehand, on your hands, it should be just warm and not hot), add a pinch of salt to it and with a dropper put just a drop in both nostrils.. this would cause irritation ans he would sneeze which would make his nasal passage clear and help him suck better. u can try this two to three times. but pleae remember to check the temperature of water on your hand first and also do not put more than a drop in each nostril. please consult your pediatrician for cold.

hello jyoti. take some hing powder add a little water make paste and apply on baby's forehead and chest it will help in combating cold and cough. and keep baby hydrated feed him often.
