How to find out whether a kid is telling truth or lie? my son is 7 yrs old and sometimes I feel that he is hiding the truth. But he will follow every rule in public like , he won't break the queue in a ticket counter,. still sometimes I believe that there is something he is hiding or telling lies. he is too sensitive and emotional that I can't confront him. please help.

thanks Poonkuzhali for your reply. he tells u everyday, someone hit him or pushed him just to seek your attention which is quite normal. this very particular incident which u narrated , probably he was scared of your reaction and feared being scolded so he preferred to avoid. what u should be relaxed about , it was accidental and he didn't purposely hit her. Poonkuzhali sometimes it's our reactions and jumping to conclusions and mistrust on our children which makes them hide things from us. it's advisable to praise him when he tells u the truth , as he seems to be a sensitive child and even without anyone making him realize when he does mistake , he's already working on correcting it. shower your love on him and show your faith in him. I am sure he will come around soon. tkcare!

Thanks for ur concern. Off late, when he plays with the kids in our apartment he complaints everyday that some one hit him, or pushed him, No one is following the rules of the game. Also he gets angry for very little things and reacts immediately. 2 days back he hit a girl with a ball though accidentally. Both the children didn't tell about this to the parents. yesterday the girl had a lil swelling at the back of the ear and her mom took her to hospital today. the child didn't tell this to the doc also. but today another elder kid told that she got hurt when my son kicked the ball. when I asked my son he told he forgot what happened. His memory is too good that I won't accept that he forgot. So I m confused how to handle this. sorry for the long post.
