Hi Srishti, Firstly your child should be taught the sounds of each individual alphabet. Some alphabets have soft and hard sounds e. g c, g. long and short sound for vowels. These are the fundamental ones to be taught first after which you can teach the double consonant sounds such as - au, ea, al, SH, ch, th, ou etc. Lastly the words with double consonants in which you have the silent letter e. g ps,Pn, mn, ts, mb etc. First teach these sounds and then move on to reading 3 letter and four letters words. If you directly jump on to 3 letter words, she would definitely get confused when she has to read words that belong to same word family but pronounced differently e. g put, but, tough, cough.. There are odd sounding words too which she will learn over a period of time by reading books. But please focus on individual sounds and then move on to reading words using the sounds, word family or sight reading. Hope this helps.
