Meal duration

Hello, so how long should a meal duration be for children? My 1 year old daughter usually takes about 2-2. 5hrs for a meal. So, recently , one elder suggested I feed her only for a fixed time like an hour and stop after that, saying this way she'll know to eat food in an hour. Is this a better idea or having a meal for 2-3 hrs so that more quantity goes in is better? But the second method, im not sure if she feels full because of eating for such a long time. Kindly advice. Thank you

Sorry, but i wasnt asking the gap between meals. I'm asking how much time can a meal go on? Breakfast or lunch or dinner. Anything. How long does ur kids take to finish their meal? How do we see that they finish their at least within an hour. My 1 yr old take more than an hour. Sometimes 2 hours too

I for my son preferred 2. 5-3 hrs gap between two meals. Reason is simple they should the time gap thry should know their routine and above all between this gap my son plays, sleeps and carry all activities. After every hour eating it's like eating for whole day. Preferred is Breakfast, morning breakfast, lunch, evening breakfast and dinner.
