mouth open

my 4 and half month baby girl keeps her mouth open sometimes while sleeping. I want to know y she s keeping her mouth open and is this OK or need v to close? I ve this doubt bcoz my hubby says if mouth is kept open the upper teeth will get protruded wen it comes. I feel it's mere stupid and she breathes thro her mouth wen open. pls mommies can anyone give Ur views

Hi Sandhya, though there is no truth in your husband's words, sleeping with mouth open could mean blocked nasal passage. Which essentially means that she is not able to breathe through her nose. It is better to get her checked by a paediatrician to rule out any serious issue.
