Hi Tripti, don't worry.. most hildren only learn to speak by 2 years.. as the popular saying goes, 1 to walk and 2 to talk.

Hi Tripti, don't worry there is enough time for him. as is, Iv heard boys take longer to speak. From your side, you could ensure that you give him a word for any of his actions for eg: if he points to water,, say it slowly and clearly to him, do you want water, stressing on the word water so that he understands. also, prompt him to ask you for it before just handing him over the glass.

dr. tripti45 - I understand your worry. your child is learning to express at this age, and is doing his/her bit to express. A child starts with non verbal expression mixed with single words, monosyllables, laughter, frowning expression, giggles and so on. This is a good time to start introducing your child to verbal language slowly. Try single words, encourage your child to first recognize these words, observe her reactions. In the coming few weeks, when your child asks you to come along, ask patiently what would you want, encourage him to speak... and be patient at it. It will take some time for your child to start making his own vocabulary. He's just doing fine. :)
