Hi to all Mom's... Am Geetha.. new to this group. I 'd like to put on worry about my daughter Aradhya. My baby is 11months old ... I've started her giving cereals, potato smash, carrot+beet root puree and some fruits daily. but seems these days she got bored up with the routine food. Does anyone know receipes which are in powdered or mashed form. because she shows interest in soft and smooth foods. Thank u in advance.

Hi Geetha. You may try making some porridge (oats cooked in water, add milk and grated bananas with honey). It is tasty as well as nutritious. Try apple puree (cook apples in little water, blend in blender but do not add any sugar); Khichri (cook dal, rice, vegs in cooker and mash with a fork); you may also try giving her idlis cut into small pieces dipped in a light sambar. You may give her just about anything but ensure to cook then until soft, blend in a blender or mash with a fork. Since she is 11 months now, you may gradually encourage her to start with finger foods (small pieces of soft food which will not pose a risk of choking). But please avoid from giving her grapes or whole raisins as they are difficult to swallow and may make your baby choke. Let her eat on her own- this way she will understand the different textures and flavours. Hope this helps :)

Hi Geetha, bread or homemade biscuits soaked in milk, fresh paneer (which is crumbly in texture) seasoned with salt, pepper, or sugar, boiled and mashed egg with cheese (though check with your doctor first, roti and dal (break pieces of the roti into the dal and let soak for sometime. mash and mix gently with a fork and feed her small bites) are some options. Alternatively you could gently steer her towards finger foods too... such as make small balls of boiled, mashed potatoes or paneer and put them in a plate before her... let her pick on her own and put it in her mouth. Or put boiled rice and let her eat with her fingers... no spoons yet, but fingers (this will also develop her hand-eye coordination). Let her explore but be ready with a lot of patience and a mop.
